Quality Improvement Coach

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to support our student experience during their time with Velocity Academy along with promoting and conducting quality activities and exercises. This is a split apprenticeship skills coaching role and quality coaching role. This includes communicating and scheduling learner inductions, completing 1-1 skills coaching calls for your caseload of apprentices, provide timely feedback to apprentices on their submitted work and offer impartial careers advice and guidance to apprentices and offer support and motivation to them and their employers in achieving their apprenticeship on time with a caseload limit of 20 apprentices. You will be working directly with the Operations and Quality Manager to arrange and carry out Quality monitoring activities such as observations, portfolio sampling, support in hosting standardisations, planning and monitoring EPA readiness and progressions and leading on Functional Skills activities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining and achieving the required number of learners in accordance with company guidelines
  • To deliver the appropriate number of apprenticeship coaching calls in accordance with company guidelines
  • To maintain paperwork over the minimum required standards
  • To ensure learner retention is at an acceptable level
  • Review learner’s performance in accordance with operational and quality requirements
  • Motivate/drive learners to achieve in line with agreed targets and deadlines
  • Deliver and support the learning process
  • Give assessment feedback in line with company timelines on portfolio submissions
  • Update apprentice tracking dashboards to maintain a clear audit trail
  • Engage with apprentices’ and their employers regularly to comply with ESFA funding rules
  • Monitor Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity and Safeguarding within the settings
  • To provide effective IAG service to both internal and external clients/ customers
  • Plan and co-ordinate quality monitoring activities
  • Coach skills coaches and provide support and feedback on the quality of their work
  • Lead on internal Functional Skills activities and training
  • Complete Gateway Checks for apprentices
  • Manage and implement the EPA gateway process
  • Manage and co-ordinate EPA for apprentices going through to achievement
  • Carry out any additional duties as reasonably requested by line management
  • Promote Velocity Academy at every opportunity with employers and learners, as well as all other internal and external parties
  • Actively market business opportunities and report accordingly
  • Manage own time effectively in order to progress learners including completion of paperwork and updating of systems, ensuring deadlines are met

Experience/Qualifications/Skills 

Essential

  • A good standard of general education
  • GCSE (or equivalent) English and maths
  • Knowledge and application of IT systems such as Excel, Word and basic principles of Database management

Desirable but not essential 

  • Teacher, training qualifications (eg: CTLLS, DTLLS, Cert-Ed)
  • TAQA or equivalent qualification (eg: D32/33, A1, CAVA)

  • Ability to plan, organise and priorities own workload
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Good customer contact skills – customer orientated
  • Ability to work to deadlines

Location – Type – Permanent

Salary – Basic £32,500 OTE -£37,500
