Apprenticeship Curriculums Manager
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to manage our apprenticeship delivery function. Within this role you will be directly managing Skills Teachers and Skills Coaches delivering a range of Digital, IT and Business apprenticeships. You will be supporting the team to achieve organisational goals such as timely achievement, consistent visit rates and consistent timely marking. You will have good technical knowledge of apprenticeship standards (mainly from Digital & IT) and you will have a clear picture of what Outstanding apprenticeship delivery looks like.
Reports to: Head of Operations and Quality
Responsibilities
- Responsible for conducting Skills Teacher and Skills Coach 1:1’s
- Responsible for the development and communication of visit rate reports to the team and to the exec team
- Responsible for the development and communication of Timely Achievement Rate reports to the team and to the exec team
- Calculating and delivering QAR to the team and stakeholders
- Planning and delivering Operational meetings
- Creative skills to help develop supporting delivery resources for the apprenticeship delivery team such as assignment plans and updated scheme’s of work
- Work with the administration team to schedule future cohorts to help with the skills teachers workload levels
- Ensure that the apprenticeship onboarding process is efficient and timely and is ESFA compliant
- A good level of knowledge of the ESFA funding rules
- Maintain a small caseload of apprentices and ensure that they progress timely during their apprenticeship programme
- Hold meetings with external stakeholders when required such as apprentice managers
- Manage EPA relationships and lead on EPA audits and conduct Audit Action Plans
- Conduct EPA mock assessments and assess readiness for EPA to improve EPA first time pass rates
- Improve apprenticeship achievement and retention rates in line with the organisational goals
- Review Skills Coach and Skills Teacher’s performance in accordance with operational and quality requirements
- Motivate/drive Skills Coaches to achieve apprentices in line with agreed targets and deadlines
- Deliver and support the learning process, stepping in as class cover where required or arranging cover
- Monitor Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity and Safeguarding within apprentices settings
- To provide effective IAG (Information, advice and guidance) service to both internal and external clients/ customers
- Conducting the recruitment processes of new skills coaches and skills teachers
- Planning and leading new operational hire inductions
- Promote Velocity at every opportunity with employers and learners, as well as all other internal and external parties
- Actively market business opportunities and report accordingly
- Manage own time effectively in order to progress learners including completion of paperwork and updating of systems, ensuring deadlines are met
Experience/Qualifications/Skills
Essential
- A good standard of general education
- GCSE (or equivalent) English and maths
- A history of operational excellence and achieving apprentices through EPA
- Strong communication and motivation skills
- Experience of management through Ofsted visits
Desirable but not essential
- Teacher, training qualifications (eg: CTLLS, DTLLS, Cert-Ed)
- TAQA or equivalent qualification (eg: D32/33, A1, CAVA)
